DAVAO -- The only Philippines city included in the Top 100, Davao City placed 87th in the list of fastest-growing cities and urban areas in the world.

Web-based research group City Mayors Foundation published on its website at www.citymayors.com a listing of 200 cities around the world that were ranked based on assumed annual growth rates.

Based on the latest listings, Davao City has a projected average annual growth of 2.53 percent during the 15-year period.

The City Mayors Foundation, which is based in London, United Kingdom and Freiburg, Germany, said the annual growth rates assumption is based on past growth, decline and forecasts by international and national statistics organizations for the period 2006-2010.

The research group was established in 2003 and has become one of the most-trusted sources of research data on performances of cities and its leaders.

Jakarta, Indonesia ranked 47th and topped among cities and urban areas in the 10-member Association of South East Asian Nations (Asean). Its projected annual growth rate is 3.03 percent during the same period.

It is followed by two more Indonesian cities Palembang and Bandung, which ranked 50th and 55th, respectively.

Palembang registered a projected average annual growth rate of 2.94 percent, while Bandung had 2.90 percent.

Yangon in Myanmar ranked 95th, with 2.46 projected average annual growth rate.

Metro Manila in the Philippines ranked 190th, with a projected annual growth rate of 1.5 percent.

"It is good that Davao has been recognized for its development," Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte said.

She said despite this recognition, the city must still sustain its robust economy.

Duterte called on Dabawenyos to cooperate in sustaining the city's growth.

City Information Office acting chief Bong Aportadera said the recognition will help boost Davao City's niche as one of the country's top investment destinations.

"It is a proof that a strong leadership produces great result. There is nowhere to go but up,"

Chibi means 'small or 'cute' in Japanese language.
So when I bought a shih tzu dog recently, I named him CHIBI.
He's kinda cute, playful and very energetic.

I don't really like dog.
But I need to have one so my sister and my niece won't get bored at home.
( I asked them to live with me, now that I'm pregnant.)
Anyway, when I first met chibi I didn't like touching him.
I was scared.
However, things changed as time went by.
I started to like him and eventually love him.

Every time I arrive from the office.
He always plays with me (showing his few funny tricks..haha)
When I tell him to sit down, he sits down.
When I tell him to stand up, he does.
When I get mad at him, he hides at the back of the sofa.
When I go out for work, he runs out of the house
Because he wants to go with me.
Ohh..chibi!

I moved to a new house 9 days ago. My husband told me not to move yet till he comes home. However, I want everything to be ready before he arrives.

Anyway, thanks to my sister (Christie), my brother-in-law (Dodong), my neighbor, Kuya Herbert, Raymund and Leo for making the transfer possible.

The house isn't yet filled with stuffs but I'm on my way there. I can't buy large stuffs alone. I need my husband to help me with it.

Dad, come home soon!

T
I went to Hong Kong with my husband- Charlie, mom-Kumiko, and dad- Mamoru! It was a great trip indeed.
Though we only stayed there for four days but we were able to enjoy and explore Hong Kong at its best.
We stayed at YWCA Hotel just to sleep. For the rest of the time, we went out to explore HK.
1st day - January 9, 2011. Arrivat at HK Airport. Checking in at the hotel. Night out <--We went to see the Symphony of Lights- it was amazing! Of course, I saw the Historical Clock there, Victoria harbour, etc.
2nd day - Disneyland. We spent the whole day there but it was not enough to enjoy everything. Anyways, we've watched the Golden Mickey Show, the Lion King Show, the Magical thingy wherein were wore 4D glasses -i forgot the show title. We climbed up Tarzan's home We tried river cruise, Space Mountain, dambu, steam locomotion etc. We also took a picture with Mickey, Minnie, Pooh, etc. At night, we witnessed the fireworks display. We also bought some souveiners there.
3rd day - Tour aroung HK. We went to Victoria Peak. There, we rode on the tram, we took a picture with many Wax Models of different famous celebrities and personalities at Madame Vussauds. We were able to see also the Symphony of Lights there- just the back view. We also climbed up through the Escalator <-- a lot of them. Then, I took a pic with Elmo at HK Convention & Exhibition Center.
Shopping. We went shopping at the Time Square, shopped at H & M, Zara, bossini, etc. But of course, we enjoyed looking and buying at different street markets.
Food. HK food is delicious - just they're kind of oily for me. Anyway, their tea solved it all. What i love the most there is its SPICY CRAB- soooo dilicious!
Transportation. I rode on their bus, tram, train, taxi, express train[still train...hehe]. Oh, I wanna add the airplane too.
Skyscrapers. I saw a lot of tall buildings there and even got inside of some. The Peninsula, the Standard Chartered, HSBC, Central Plaza, Bank of China Tower, Cheung Kong Center, the Center, Nina Tower and many many more. I think I saw more than a hundred there.
4th day. Departure for Cebu, Philippines. HK Airport is really wide and huge. I ate delicious congee in one of the restaurants inside.
If I get a chance - I wanna GO BACK THERE! See you again HK in the future!

"A pose in my new office. "

I didn't regret working before as a marketing communication officer, as a magazine staff and article contributor in a newspaper because the skills that I've learned from those offices/fields have helped me a lot in my new job.

And of course, working as an ESL Teacher for more than 5 years is really a big help. Aside from it enhances my English skill, it also helps me communicate better with my bosses, clients and the people I need to talk to. What's more, in making different proposals for our businesses.

I'm working in the head office of API Holdings Inc. and in our Korean magazine, the 'Phil So Good' Magazine. Thus, the above mentioned experiences really help me execute my tasks easily.

'Being defeated is a TEMPORARY condition. Giving up is what makes it PERMANENT'.
<-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
I came across this maxim while I was having a class last night. I suddenly realized how good it is. So, I shared it to my students today. Like me, they were also impressed as soon as they understood the meaning behind.

Anyway, I'm planning to live with it in that my personality fits in it. I'm this kind of person who never gives up, who is patient and who allows oneself to grow. I always believe that the fruit of sweat is sweet. So, I work hard on what I want to get and what I already have. That way, no one will question the accomplishment that I may get. They may raise their brow but not because they question my capability, instead they're envious to me.

Another thing, I attended my niece's baptism two weeks ago. I now have two nieces; one is 6 years old and the other is 4 months old. I sometimes think of having one of my own. I see how happy my sisters are of having their angels. Well, I'm happy for them also.

In the pictures are my younger sister- Jelly. She's 22 years old. She's single. And, she's a regular employee of Tayu Yuden(forgive me if I spell the company incorrectly); the baby girl with her is our niece- Bianca Michaela. She's 4 months old. She's my other sister's daughter; and of course, yours truly- the youngest in the photos...este..the oldest..the 28-year-old woman- Lota..hehe

Recently I have had terrible lunch experiences. Last Friday, there was a worm in my fish soup. Then, on Saturday there was a fly in my soda. It was really terrible. I didn't expect it to happen because I was eating in the food court of a mall.

Every weekend, I cook for my meals. I see to it that I eat good food because from Mondays to Fridays I eat out. While I was having brunch this morning, I thought of taking a video of my food..hehe... I was just bored because I was eating alone.

Anyway, here it is..

Though my title is lavender, I'll not really talk about it. It's just that I was wearing lavender earrings and blouse when I took pictures with my colleagues. Also, this might be another boring topic of mine. It's just that I want to post some photos with my friends and myself.

Posting photos of me is kinda vital because this may remind my younger years by the time I'll get old. Besides, this will serve as evidence on how 'attractive' I am...hahaha. Seriously, this will be for my future children and grandchildren - I want them not to forget me.

Well, enough for the drama moments..here are my photos...

a smile for u...

on a stool..

After a 3-hour class, I was still energetic. I didn't feel like watching TV as well as visiting my favorite w-sites. So, I thought of doing something strange but fun- just to fill up my boring moment. Needless to say, I'm alone. My husband has left recently. Besides, I had a terrible day today. I was suffering from severe migraine. So, I had to cancel my appointment with the dentist. Well, I'm fine now...hehe.

Anyway, what I did is I set my camera to 20 seconds. Then, I ran in front and posed.....click!

Because of the annoying hot weather, we (me, my sister Christie, my brother-in-law Dodong and my husband Charlie) decided to at least forget it by going to zipline and mountain view in Busay.

Our first stop - Zipline. Upon going there, we were trying to picture out how did the place look like and how was it like. On the other hand, I was holding my breath every time the taxi's engine would make a strange noise while climbing up the hills.

Anyway, we've reached the place before we knew it. We we very excited as we were heading towards the main location. However, we were all shocked when he heard people screaming, shouting and yelling. There, we saw two people zipping nervously. Oh, God! I suddenly changed my mind. I didn't want to have a ride. But I was thinking that it would be a first time experience and it would help solve my fear of heights. Without much thinking, I decided to try it. Well, we decided to let the two guys do it first..haha.

Then, our turn came. I managed to smile in front of the camera though I was nervous. And as the staff pushed me to start, I closed my eyes for a second. Finally, I enjoyed the whole ride. It was a nice experience indeed. Although I was still shivering when we headed to mountain view.

The experience made us hungry so we bought sweet corn. Surprisingly, it was so delicious! It was very different from the city's sweet corn. Maybe because it was still fresh or newly picked. While eating, we went to our second yet final stop - Mountain View.

Mountain View is beautiful indeed. It is a great place for us to escape the city's busy and fast life. It's very relaxing to stay there- a place fitted for couples. My husband and I think of staying a day or two there soon.

Anyway, the day ended with a smile in our faces. Though it made us very tired and hungry, we were all satisfied and we enjoyed a lot. Our journey wouldn't end without eating our favorite roasted chicken from Sr. Pedro.
