mistress - an adulterous woman; a woman who has an ongoing extramarital sexual relationship with a man; or, a woman who has a continuing sexual relationship with a man who is usually married to somebody else.
I've just read an article in the forum corner of Friendster.com about a mistress. A concerned friend wrote a letter to the mistress of her bestfriend's husband. She asked the mistress to stay away from the lives of the couple. She felt bad and angry with the mistress because the mistress showed disrespect to the wife e.g, the mistress sent bad letters, went to the house of the couple and acted like she's the legal wife.
The concerned friend put all the blame to the mistress. She never blamed the couple. So, I partly agree and disagree with her.
Many people responded to her entry. Each of them had different opinions. Well, I also shared my opinion......This is how I responded to her letter?
" Cheryl is a marriage wrecker. Shame on her! She must be very ugly and desperate because she sacrifices her dignity just to have a man in her life.
On the other hand, I wanna put the 70% blame on Jasper, 20% on Livia and 10% on Cheryl.
Jasper is married; so, he must know the DO's and DONT's in marriage. He's not idiot so he knows definitely that what he's doing is not right. Moreover, Cheryl wouldn't be proud as a mistress if Jasper didn't tolerate her. He's the captain in this situation, so why doesn't he put Cheryl in the bin if he still loves her wife and if he still cares for his children and their marriage?
Livia must take an action over this situation. If she thinks that there's no more LOVE in their marriage, so she must leave her husband. Saving marriage just for the sake of the children is not good. If marriage doesn't work anymore, then why suffer? On the other hand, if she thinks that she misses to do some of her responsibilities as a wife, so she must start doing them,..who knows, that will save the marriage and will make Jasper realize his mistakes.
We cannot avoid/stop home wreckers, like Cheryl. So,the husband and wife must take an effort in making their marriage life ALIVE, STRONG, FIRM and SOUND all the time so that no temptations, wreckers, etc. intervene."
I think the husband and the wife should always do their duties and responsibilities as a couple. They shouldn't function only as husband and wife but as friends & siblings too.
