On Wednesday, September 24, 2008, I'm going to attend the burial of my uncle. So, I have to leave from work since he's from Tuburan, a province in the north of Cebu. It takes 3 to 4 hours by bus to get there; thus, I have to leave early from the city so that I can catch the burial ceremony at 11 am.

How Tuburan got its name?

Founded in the 1851 by Don Mariano Montebon who hailed from the town of Sogod, Cebu. The town site was first located at Daan Lungsod which is just across the Adela River, north of the present Poblacion, Tuburan got its name from the prevalence of springs, which are the sources of potable water for household use of the early settlers. "
Tuburan" it is averred, evolved from the Cebuano- Visayan dialect "Tubod" meaning spring.
